Sian from Wynnstay Seeds contacted me in the New Year asking for a photoshoot to capture staff portraits, fleet and shop life for images to be used in annual reports and general adverting. No problem at all, we discussed the requirements for the portrait shoot and the need to convert a small space into a mini photo studio and how best to capture trucks working onsite and get the best impact for magazine and other publication content – then Covid lockdown stopped all of this in its tracks. But, a couple of months later and Sian was able to pick up again where we had left off.
I arranged a quick site survey to cover off two things, 1, risk assessment, this was required so I could become familiar with the site and it’s working to enable me to keep myself safe and anyone in direct contact with me – Sian was happy to provide Hi-vis jackets, 2 find a room to set up as a mini studio, the requirement was to use 2 backgrounds, white and blue so portable speedlights, softboxes, stool and light meter required to get the best exposure for both white and blue background as well as factoring in the different colours that staff would be wearing.
Sian had also arranged for a couple of staff members to act as pretend shoppers which made life a lot easier as I could then direct and get the best shots as requested by Sian.
A great days shooting and now preparation is in progress for a board members shoot at a Hotel location towards the end of the month.
