Photography Studio Workshop Mid Wales

Welshpool Camera Club Studio Workshop

I had the great privilege of being asked to run a couple of studio lighting workshop for the WCC in Welshpool.

The WCC asked if I could come along to demonstrate quick and simple studio set-ups, added to this, and to provide a wider range of photographic possibilities, G17 Photography Services teamed up with Melissa Pugh from M J Portraits in Newtown to give club members a full-blown studio experience.

The workshop involved 2 sessions.

The first was to get familiar with using the lights and modifiers and ensuring cameras worked with our lights and members could work their way around setting up camera and lights efficiently.

The 2nd would involve putting what was learnt in the first session, light settings, lighting positions, modifiers, backgrounds etc and also included 2 models - members had an added ‘opportunity’ to work with and get the best out of our shy models.

A great studio experience, the WCC members really pulled out all of the stops and with a gentle nudge here and there, managed to get some great images, work our models to the full and learn while having fun at the same time.
