A real pleasure to meet Woody at Montgomery Vineyard after getting a call from Rebecca at Kelsey Media looking for a photographer to cover an article, she was writing for May’s Vineyard Magazine.
As this was during the Corvid-19 pandemic we adopted and planned the best way to progress a photo shoot while maintaining the recommended distances and social interactions. Rebecca interview Woody over the phone and arranged for G17 to visit the Vineyard a week later.
After being put in contact with Woody we planned the best way to carry this out taking into account the close proximity and working conditions out in the field.
On arrival I suggested to Woody that I get to walk the Vineyard alone and capture the Vines, location and surroundings. After this we could then do the team photo shoot with family and workers out in the field. I have to admit – once in the zone it was difficult to monitor and predict people’s movement but we managed it with additional protection through gloves in the handling of wine bottles, camera equipment etc by wearing gloves and using hand sanitiser.
I would normally assist in the setting up of props but had to stand firm in the commitment to let Woody carry this out under guidance and where I needed to apply minor adjustments, out came the sanitiser and everything got a wipe down.
Photographically the shoot was fairly straight forward, Rebecca from Kelsey Media provided a shoot list and suggested I make any photographic judgements according to the situation and to keep myself and client safe. Having done a little research on Vineyard photography for other magazine outlets I had some great opportunities to add a little more flavour to the shoot and with a very willing family eager to experiment we managed to get a good amount of images for the magazine and a rather nice comment from Rebecca “ Thanks Adam, they are absolutely perfect” Rebecca Chaplin Kelsey Media.
